Are WSM introducing this?

Under UK law, Age Verification (AV) took effect from 25th July 2025.

If we accept the need for AV in order to protect children, then only one requirement remains.

That is to prove that the user is over 18.

 

In order to purchase downloads and subscriptions through the WSM website, you require a payment processor.

In the case of WSM this is Verotel.com

WSM wrote to Verotel.com on 26th June asking about their AV plans.

They stated that they were currently working on an AV tool for merchants.

We have now had a further response from Verotel who are unable to set a launch date.

They advise us to seek a solution of our own because the deadline date in the UK has already been passed.

 

This is not the response we expected.

Our webmaster has been ordered to very urgently find a suitable interface.

We expect to disclose this at our next update.

  

DAVID WILKEY R.I.P.

With deep regret we report the passing of a great Wetlook enthusiast.

David Wilkey of Bath passed away 11th August with a suspected cardiac arrest.

And so another pioneer departs the UK WAM scene.

David was 75 years of age.

He had been a printer.

He was married for 21 years and is survived by Kate.

 

David was a very good friend of Roger Carpenter from Tenby who we sadly lost in 2019.  Together they formed two notable WAM businesses being Artscene (David) and Aquantics (Roger).

David Wilkey did have a close association with WSM being our video cameraman for the production of our most famous movie WSM9 ‘Sex WSM’ shot in 1998/1999.

I did attend and assist at two of his shoots, one being ‘the Muchanic’.

 

David Wilkey’s own specialism lay with Wetlook.

David was a master with his glamour models in swimming pools and waterfalls.

But it went much further!

He produced books and videos.

And allied to this enthusiastic dedication he added paintings.

For the last few years of his life he painted in the mornings whenever possible.

 

David’s work covered a wide spectra including:

Glamour (which he allied with WAM)

Landscape

Street

Townscape

Urban Decay

Waterfalls

Wildlife

 

So as you can see, David was truly artistic

But sadly he was hindered by poor health.

I can recall in 2012 he had kidney stones, in 2018 he was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease.

His heart gave continual trouble so he had to take life gently.

This is what he wrote to me last month on 24th July 2025:

‘I keep blacking out just like my dad (breaking my arm twice a few years ago).

I went to photograph the Bath Carnival on 12th July (his 75th birthday).

I came too to find myself surrounded by 1st aiders and St. Johns.

Two kind ladies helped me back to my mobility scooter parked a few streets away.

Great fun.’

I guess it shows the determination of the man not to let his disabilities ruin his life.

Such an adventure he ranked as ‘great fun’.

 

So it was a massive, massive blow to WSM with him passing!

Last Update I had revealed ‘OUR NEXT PROJECT’.

This was to have been for WSM being appointed by David Wilkey to re-release the videos from Artscene and Aquantics, which had been withdrawn from sale for at least a couple of years together with the closure of his website.

I would hope that by 27th September we are in a position to update this aspiration to the benefit of all WAM fans.

 

We salute our so talented colleague David Wilkey, who overcame such physical problems to hopefully leave an everlasting mark on the UK WAM scene.

May he rest in peace after his life’s labours.

1.        This year we commenced a new series of Download movies.

This Update we post our 18th HD movie as a Download with movie WSM140 which features the blonde Chloe Westland both under the shower in a red mini dress, then playing with rice pudding in her black dress.

Unbelievably movie WSM140 runs 60 minutes plus image sets W303 and S312.

 

2.        After over 2 years as a Download only, we add 23 minute movie XXX106 featuring Custard Couple in ‘Breakfast in Bed 2’ to our Gold Subscription site (of XXX movies).

A treat for CC is to have their breakfast in bed, but not to eat it……. but play with it.  Plenty of mess and plenty of sex!

We now have a further update that their solution requires further testing before being applied.

 

This will be an inevitable outcome.

As we stated last Update, if you feel uneasy with the new arrangements then there is still time to check our website and purchase any downloads or subscriptions unhindered.

 

Understandably there has been reaction within the UK with a petition to repeal the Online Safety Act reaching 427,000 by the end of July.

This petition reads “We believe that the scope of the Online Safety Act is far broader and restrictive than is necessary in a free society”.

Main concerns are possible data breaches, surveillance and free speech limitations.

WSM leave it to you to make your own judgement in this matter.

We do have a very specific project in mind.

This should astonish and delight you all.

But as it is Betty’s 21st Birthday, she knows what to expect and says that Kimyl ‘Aint half going to get it too!’

WHAT DO WE HAVE IN THIS UPDATE?

1. It was a huge shock to the WAM community when Bill Shipton of Splosh fame suddenly passed away on 5th July 2013 at the age of 57.

That is now 12 years ago, but Bill was the first major WAM Influencer in the UK and his early death was a great blow to the WAM community.

WSM will continue to remember Bill each year even if most forget.

ANOTHER WSM TRIBUTE TO BILL SHIPTON

I (Mike Ellison) first met Bill under his true name of Clive Harris in 1983.

He was the presenter of a custard pie caper held at a venue near Hammersmith, London.

I next remember meeting him a year or two later, this time hosting a mud wrestling event on the 1st floor of a pub also down London’s West End.

As a freelance writer, he had many fingers in many pies, but was a dynamic, yet irreverent, innovator.

 

I next met Clive (now renamed as Bill Shipton ) 11th March 1989 at the 1st Aquantics Convention held at the Harbour Heights Hotel (now converted to flats!) in Tenby, South Wales.

Bill had decided to launch a wet and messy magazine under the name of ‘Splosh’.

WSM girls Carol and Debbie provided the ‘splosh’ entertainment that time (see image set S058 which has 89 shots, available as part of our Standard Subscription).

These were great WSM girls in a wonderful personalized shoot for those present.

Next RETRO CORNER on 19th July, we will include several images from set S058.

 

Bill formed a good working relationship with Shaun Kendall (the WSM film editor) and they went on to make the ‘Buff’ range of videos.

 

Bill’s writing and comic skills were well apparent, so WSM signed him up as our script-writer and Bill produced the scripts for the WSM Vintage Films numbers 3 to 9.

In fact, it was better than that, as Bill was only too happy to show his versatility by taking a number of roles in the videos.  So Bill had real ‘hands-on’ experience in the 90’s.

Bill started his Splosh website as a haven for many WAM inclined people who had lived uncertain and lonely lives.  He was the accepted reassuring face of WAM and a means of connecting like-minded peoples. This was successful but sadly there was no inbuilt legacy as to who was to pick up the torch.

But this Tribute’s purpose is to look at his work in creating the Splosh magazine.

Bill’s 1st issue of Splosh magazine was shot in the basement of the Harbour Heights Hotel in Tenby.

WSM assisted Bill by supplying content for Splosh issues 2 through to 11.

But Bill realized at the end of the 90’s that a new phenomena was changing the world.

So, the internet made magazine production too costly and sales fell away.

 

But what a remarkable talent Bill had to put together a new magazine and manage to produce 40 issues.

Now, 12 years after Bill’s passing let us take a further nostalgic trip as I look at Splosh magazine issues 1 to 10 and specifically the WSM content.

Issue 1 had a black and white cover but a coloured middle section with Mirrel and Zeta in the basement of the Harbour Heights Hotel (which was run by Colin Twyford (real name Chris Taylor)– see article on Colin in Issue 2).

The cover pic was of model Karen ‘coated in custard and ketchup’.

Why that pic?  No idea!

Issue 2 features Debbie on the cover in another b/w shot titled ‘Debbie soaked, then coated in creamed rice and custard’.

Shot in December 2012, Dee returned to modeling after a 3 year break with a simple but memorable wetlook set.

With 195 shots, this is a comprehensive wetlook set.

Dee wears a black long sleeved top with black leggings, black thong and bare feet.

Some terrific wet clothed shots are followed by wet hair and some unusual hair shots.

First off are the leggings, then we move to topless to see just how trim Dee has become.

So did Dee enjoy this set?

Definitely, as her smiles show (and the shower was nice and warm).
